President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the State Security Council, during which the work done by the military and law enforcement agencies in January-July was reviewed.
The high-ranking military and law enforcement officials presented the reports on the work done since the beginning of the year and the fulfilment of the Turkmen leader’s instructions to optimize the activities of ministries and departments under their supervision, modernize material and technical base and train highly qualified specialists.
The reports spotlighted the achievements in promoting the military reform aimed at strengthening the national army, training military specialists and creating favourable conditions for the life and service of military servants.
The reports on the measures taken to strengthen border security of motherland and the on-going work carried out in accordance with the Turkmen leader’s instructions, the progress in implementing the projects for reconstruction and construction of frontier posts and housing facilities for frontiers guards and their families, who had moved to a number of comfortable apartment houses in recent years, were presented.
Focusing on the need to properly maintain and effectively use military equipment, President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov severely reprimanded Minister of Defence B. Gundogdyev for the shortcomings in managing the departments under his supervision and signed the relevant document.
The reports on the work done by the Ministry of Internal Affairs for seven months of the year, in particular the measures taken to maintain public order, prevent crimes and traffic accidents and ensure fire safety, were presented
The information on the specific measures taken by prosecutor’s offices to exercise strict oversight on the observance of laws in the state and society was presented.
The report on the measures taken to improve the judicial system and bring it in line with international standards so as to bring the state and society to a qualitatively new level of development was presented.
The report on the measures taken in January-July to control illicit traffic in narcotic drugs and drug abuse was presented. The report on the work done by the migration and customs services was presented.

The President relieved Chairman of the State Customs Service B. Hojamgulyev of his post due to the transfer to another job and appointed D. Bairamov, who had worked as Chairman of the State Migration Service, as Chairman of the State Customs Service. The President appointed M. Nobatov, who had worked as Deputy Chairman of the State Migration Service, as Chairman of the State Migration Service and signed the Decree on the conferment the colonel rank to M. Nobatov.
Wishing the newly appointed high-ranking officials every success in their work, the Turkmen leader signed the relevant documents.

The Turkmen leader emphasized the importance of strengthening discipline among military servants, improving professional skills of military and law enforcement officers and bringing the younger generation to love the motherland and selflessly fulfil of the sacred military duty.
