President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov had a meeting with President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the second day of his working visit to the Republic of Turkey.
In the afternoon, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov arrived at the Palace of the President of the Republic of Turkey in Tarabya. The Turkish leader heartily greeted the distinguished guest at the entrance of the Palace.
The leaders of the two states exchanged a friendly handshake at the entrance of the Palace. After the official ceremony of photographing on the background of the national flags of the two countries had concluded, the leaders of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Turkey held the one-on-one talks.
The two leaders touched upon the most important aspects of cooperation, particularly in the economic sector, including the power and transport industries, the expansion of investment and the implementation of joint infrastructure projects.
It was noted that the successful implementation of numerous joint projects opened up new points of contact as well as ample opportunities for Turkey’s business circles in the promising Turkmen market where an enabling investment climate, serving as an essential factor, was created.
The tourism industry is a special area for cooperation. The experience of the Republic of Turkey in developing extensive resort infrastructure is of great interest to Turkmenistan, especially in the context of the project of the Avaza national tourism zone.
The sides expressed satisfaction with the dynamics of friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Turkey in various fields and expressed belief that bilateral relations would be further enhanced.
The sides once again emphasized that the shared historical roots and spiritual and cultural values of the two peoples underlay relations between Turkmenistan and Turkey.
Then the members of the government delegations of the two countries joined in the talks.

Noting that Turkmenistan was preparing to host the V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, the leader of Turkey assured that Turkish partners were standing ready to cooperate fully in this area and provide all necessary assistance in organizing and holding the Games.
