On the instructions of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Chairperson of the Mejlis A. Nurberdyeva received the letters of credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Sudan Mr. Mohammed Elias Muhamed Elhaj.
During the meeting, the distinguished guest was briefed on the key aspects of the state development strategy of Turkmenistan and the progress in implementing the ambitious reforms in the country. Particular attention was paid to the reforms in the spheres of science and education.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Sudan was also informed on the structure and activities of the Turkmen Parliament.
Exchanging views on the prospects of the interstate cooperation, the sides focused on the existing wide opportunities for development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two states. The priority areas for bilateral cooperation include the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The proposal for the establishment of direct inter-parliamentary relations was put forward at the meeting.
