President of Turkmenistan attends the opening ceremony of a secondary school in the Keshi housing estate

On Day of Knowledge and Students, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov attended the opening ceremony of a secondary school, located in the Keshi housing estate in Ashgabat.

The ceremony participants, including teachers and schoolchildren from secondary school 116, greeted the President of Turkmenistan. To the applause of those present the Turkmen leader cut the ribbon, and the school opened its doors for schoolchildren, teachers and guests to the celebrations.

The Turkmen leader entered the building of the new school that was built by the Total Turkish company at the request of the Ashgabat Hyakimk.

The school designed for 600 schoolchildren occupies an area of 2.84 hectares. All necessary conditions for conducting lessons, educational activities, sports and cultural events and cognitive leisure of schoolchildren are created at the new school. Classrooms and laboratories are supplied with multimedia and computer equipment. There are laboratories for practical lessons in physics, chemistry and other subjects, the library and the rooms for dance, drama and other groups of interest in the school. There are paediatrician and a dentist rooms, the canteen designed for 200 seats and the conference hall for festive events in the school.

The large and small gyms, football, volleyball and basketball grounds, athletics grounds and fields for various competitions are located in the schoolyard.

There are the classrooms, where girls will take the classes in sewing, embroidering and cooking national dishes and boys will gain the skills in carpentry, woodworking, plumbing and jewellery making.

A meteorological station to observe the weather and 250-square-metre greenhouse, where schoolchildren will learn more about the methods of growing trees, watermelons, melons and flowers, are located on the territory of the scientific and experimental zone in the school.

The Turkmen leader visited the elementary school classrooms first formers had their first lesson. The Turkmen leader wished children success in their studies and presented a laptop to each child.

The President also visited the playing room, where the lesson for six-year-old schoolchildren took place. The teacher told the Turkmen leader about the conditions created at the school and modern interactive technologies used to develop children’s skills.
