President of Turkmenistan attends the opening ceremony of Asgabadyn Yalkymy shopping centre

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov attended the opening ceremony of Asgabadyn Yalkymy shopping centre. High-ranking officials, foreign ambassadors accredited to Turkmenistan, Turkmen businessmen and local citizens participated in the opening ceremony.

To the applause of those present the Turkmen leader cut the ribbon and opened the new shopping centre in Ashgabat. The four-storey building occupying an area of 44,500 square meters houses 17 shops, a restaurant designed for 550 seats, an Altyn Acar cafe and beauty salons.

The Turkmen leader visited the shops on the first floor and got acquainted with domestically food products they manufactured domestically. Among them are dried melon, melon jam, syrup, juices, fruit drinks, tomato paste and soft drinks. The shops provide a wide range of confectionery products. Different types of meat and sausages and the new product – smoked chicken were presented in the meat department.

Getting acquainted with the varieties of ice cream offered in the new shopping centre, the Turkmen leader underlined the necessity to increase production capacity of entrepreneurs and provide continued support to their activities.

The Turkmen leader also visited the shops on the second floor that hosts a restaurant and tea-house as well.

Textiles, children’s apparel and domestically manufactured furniture are sold on the second floor of the shopping centre. The shop of souvenirs and national handicrafts attracts customers’ attention with its colourful window.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also visited the book and school supplies department. A new product manufactured by Turkmen entrepreneurs – writing paper – was presented to the Turkmen leader. The Turkmen leader also visited the floral department.

On the first floor, the Turkmen leader wrote an entry to the Book of Guests of Honour.

From the new shopping centre, the President headed to the multi-storey car park designed for 300 cars.

The Turkmen leader lifted to the upper open floor, where he could take a panoramic view of the city. Noting that road infrastructure in Ashgabat was being modernized intensively, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed the high-ranking officials to continue the work on increasing the number of car parks.
