The head of Parliament made a speech at the 4th World conference of Parliament Heads

Granting to the Turkmen delegation representative of a tribune of 4th World conference of Parliament heads, taking place these days in New York became an evidence of a growing role of our Fatherland in the world community.

As was underlined in the speech from forum tribune by the Head of Turkmenistan Parliament A. Nurberdiyeva, the principle of creation of equal rights and freedom for men and women according to positions of the Constitution of our country and the standard norms of international law is defined by one of the basic priorities of the state policy conducted under the direction of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Acknowledging the General declaration of human rights and steadily following the international obligations, Turkmenistan has joined the basic international acts on human rights, including to declarations and conventions on rights of women.

Performance of purposes of all-round protection of the rights and legitimate interests of the person is promoted by effective legal base, activity of numerous parties and public organizations of our country. Huge value is given to perfection of the national legislation, escalating constructive, mutually effective dialogue with leading international organizations, first of all the United Nations Organization and its structural divisions.

The Turkmen delegation is in visit in New York for the period from August 28th - to September 3rd, 2015 for participation in 10th meeting of women - heads of Parliaments and 4th World conference of Parliament heads. Issues of achievement of gender equality within the frameworks of Beijing + 20 platform and Program of sustainable development are on the agenda of forums. The gender equality acting as one of eight Aims of millennium development, have paramount importance for process of steady and continuous human development.
