President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the governmental delegation of Afghanistan at the head of the Minister of mining resources and petroleum of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mr. Daudshah Saba.
Subject of interested discussion became the tasks on realization of agreements reached during official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Afghanistan.
It was raised the topic of partnership in fuel and energy sphere, practical realization of the construction project of transnational gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI).
In this context, the visitors have underlined the significance of initiatives of the President of Turkmenistan, concerning maintenance of global energy safety, social and economic revival of Afghanistan, maintenance of peace and stability in the region and all over the planet.
As President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has underlined, the major aspect of energy strategy of the Turkmen state is formation of the reliable mechanism of energy transit safety on world markets. With the assistance of the Afghani party, it is envisaged the realization of large infrastructural projects, including in such important directions as power engineering and transport sector. Special significance is attached to realization of the project of gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India. Speaking about it, the head of state ascertained with satisfaction that in this direction, the huge successes were gained; the basic issues of realization of this project were solved. It is an important condition for maintenance in Afghanistan of sustainable economic and social restoration, successful joining of the friendly country to regional and world economic relations.
Creation of transport corridors, including realization of the construction project of Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan railway is also perspective and beneficial in regional scale. With its commissioning, this route becomes the integral link in formation in the Asian region of the modern branched out transport-communication infrastructure is not less perspective. Construction of a large power energy infrastructure is also among realized projects.
The head of the Turkmen state with satisfaction ascertained the successes reached in development of the Turkmen-Afghani trade and economic relations, having underlined that there are all possibilities for their further expansion. The big role in it is assigned to the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Afghani commission the activity of which already yields good results.
Issues of creation of favorable conditions in economic, financial and other spheres for interaction of business structures of both states also have been discussed during a meeting. The issue of stimulation of partnership between the interested organizations and companies of two countries in the field of agriculture and livestock sectors, careful use of natural resources and preservation of environment and in other directions have also been discussed.
At the end of the meeting the Turkmen leader and members of the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan have expressed confidence that the Turkmen-Afghani relations will be strengthened henceforth and develop successfully, relying on the best traditions of friendship and neighborliness, mutual good will of the parties.
