President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with President of Romania Klaus Iohannis within the framework of the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The President of Romania expressed the support for the constructive initiatives put forward by Turkmenistan from the rostrum of the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly that characterize our country’s approaches to cooperation with the UN Member States, UN agencies and institutions in such areas as regional and global security, ecology, educational and social spheres.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan considered creation of favourable international conditions for promotion of wide economic and trade cooperation, the growth of the world industrial production, active cooperation in the energy and transport spheres as the strategic goal of the UN activity.
In this regard, the Presidents of the two states underlined the importance of the secure transit of energy products as a crucial factor for sustainable development and international cooperation. It was also emphasized the significance of the project on creation of the transit and transport corridor aimed at using the potential of the Caspian and Black Sea regions and creating new economic routes for international freight traffic.
