President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has met with Prime Minister of Malaysia Najib Bin Tun Abdul Razak within the framework of the UN General Assembly taken place in New York.
The interlocutors have discussed the current state and prospects of the Turkmen-Malaysian cooperation. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Malaysia Najib Bin Tun Abdul Razak declared for further strengthening of constructive political dialogue as well as expansion of trade-economic ties.
Rich experience of partnership was accumulated by our countries in energy sphere, said the Turkmen leader, having continued that Turkmenistan highly appreciates the activity of “PETRONAS” Company, which makes ponderable contribution to the development of economy of our country, training of staff for oil and gas sector.
The President of Turkmenistan spoke for development of joint programs in the field of education and science, projects on development of tourism, taking into account large experience of Malaysia in tourism industry, which could be also used efficiently in advancement at world level of the National Tourist Zone “Avaza”. The head of state noted that the partnership in sports in aspect of upcoming Asian Indoor games and Martial Arts to be held in Ashgabat is vital as well. “We also strive for cooperation with Malaysia within the framework of Association of South-East Asian Countries (ASAC) with a view of development of joint projects for economic, social and cultural development of our states,” – noted the nation leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
