President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with President of the Republic of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović within the framework of the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
An exchange of views on the status and prospects of further cooperation in a wide spectrum of areas took place during the meeting. Expressing satisfaction with the high dynamics of the bilateral relations, the sides underlined the willingness of Turkmenistan and Croatia in building up mutually beneficial partnership.
The President of Turkmenistan emphasized the significance of construction of modern vessels Bagtyyarlyk and Berkarar in Croatia for Turkmenistan as well as called for establishment of direct contacts between the business structures of the two countries. Speaking about the cultural and humanitarian relations, the Turkmen leader expressed satisfaction with the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in Zagreb in May, 2015 and noted that the Days of Culture of Croatian would be held in our country in 2016.
Cooperation in the sphere of tourism was specified as an important area of the interstate collaboration. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan had demonstrated keen interest in studying and using Croatia’s practices. The President of Turkmenistan underlined the importance of establishing close relations between the Academies of Sciences of the two states.
The energy sector, transport and communication sphere, construction and a number of industrial areas, including mechanic engineering and shipbuilding industry were specified among the important areas for cooperation.
