President of Turkmenistan participates in the national planting campaign

The national planting campaign started in Turkmenistan with participation of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of military and law-enforcement agencies, ministries and departments, deputies of the National Parliament, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Turkmenistan, public organisations, higher educational institutions, and mass media participated in the planting campaign.

Cordially greeting participants of the planting campaign, the President of Turkmenistan expressed gratitude for taking part in such events. By tradition, the Turkmen leader planted a tree starting the national planting campaign. All those present followed the Turkmen leader’s example.

Over 300,000 citizens of Turkmenistan took part in the large-scale planting campaign launched throughout the country. More than 286,000 coniferous, deciduous, fruit, and other trees were planted in the country this day. Particular attention during the campaign was also paid to treating over 1.153 million young trees planted earlier.

Upon completion of the event, the President of Turkmenistan headed to the Oguzkhan Palace Complex, where the Turkmen leader examined trees and flowers planted earlier.

Speaking with Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, Executive Secretary of the Office of the President of Turkmenistan and the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan P. Taganov, the Turkmen leader underlined the importance of planting various types of trees for improving the ecological state and beautifying the capital of our country.

Working in the garden, the President of Turkmenistan planted various types of flowers. Speaking about the importance of the regular treatment over the green belts, the Turkmen leader gave a number of relevant instruction to the Vice Premier.
