The Turkmen athletes won three medals of the World Alysh Belt Wrestling Championships, which was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. This kind of wrestling is allied to goresh, the Turkmen kind of wrestling.

Sportsmen from countries competed for the medals in seven weight categories. So outstanding is the success that the Turkmen team gained in the international tournament. A student of the National Institute for Tourism and Sports, International Master of Sports M. Jumaev from Karabekaul Etrap won the silver gold in the over 100 kg category.

International Masters of Sport Ya. Annamuradov (under 62-kg category) from Bereket Etrap and K. Jumaev (under 90-kg category) from Sayat, the students of this Institute won the bronze medals.

The medals that our compatriots won at the World Championships became a wonderful present for the 20th anniversary of independence of the Motherland.
