Within the framework of the working visit to Ahal Velayat, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov attended the opening ceremony of the new agro-industrial facility in Altyn Asyr Etrap – the modern ginnery with an annual capacity of 40,000 tons of raw cotton.
The new facility is built by Engin Group Consorcium S.A., one of the long-term business partners of our country at the request of Turkmenpagta State Concern.
230 specialists will work at the ginnery, the total area of which is 16.95 hectares. The enterprise will work in three shifts around the clock.
The annual capacity of the new industrial facility is 40,000 tons. Innovative high-tech equipment from the world’s largest manufacturers, including world-famous American BS Supply allows ginning raw cotton and separating cotton from seeds, protecting cotton seeds from diseases using chemical methods, enriching them with special nutrients and packing them into 20-kg packs. This equipment is capable to gin 15.36 tons of seeds per hour and about 315 tons per day. Thus, it will gin 40,000 tons of seeds within 4.2 months.
Manual labour is minimized at the new enterprise and all the manufacturing processes are automatic and monitored at the special displays.
The finished products of the new enterprise include compacted and baled cotton fibre, wich will be supplied to textile enterprises, and cotton seeds packed in sacks, which will be sown. Each package has a barcode of the enterprise, batch number, bale number, etc. The moisture, volume, length, colour and purity indicators are displayed on the monitors of special laboratory equipment.
120,000 hectares in average are sown with cotton in Ahal Velayat. 3,960 tons of cotton seeds, which can be sown on this area, will be processed within 60 days. Thus, the new ginnery will give a powerful impetus to the development of the cotton industry in the region.
Altyn Asyr Etrap, where the important facility is erected, is one of the leading regions in the country that has accumulated wide experience in cotton cultivation. It is planned to pick 24,000 tons of ‘white gold’ in 2,950 hectares this year.
