President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, during which the important issues of the domestic policy and a number of draft documents were discussed. The Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers presented the reports.
The reports focused on the outcomes of the last week’s working visit of the delegation of our country to the United States. A lively exchange of views on a wide range of aspects of bilateral relations took place during the meetings in Washington.
The ways to concert efforts in such an important sphere as maintenance of global peace and security were placed on the agenda of the consultations. The role of Turkmenistan-US Business Council was underlined during the talks on trade and economic partnership. Considerable attention was paid to humanitarian cooperation, including in the spheres of education, science and culture. Ample opportunities for effective interaction also exist in the spheres of health care, sports and tourism.
The report on the preparations for an official visit of Prime Minister of Japan to Turkmenistan was presented. The Turkmen-Japanese talks are expected to result in signing a package of documents that will replenish the solid regulatory and legal framework of bilateral relations.
The Turkmen leader signed the Resolution on the dismissal of Orazmuhammet Charyev from the post of Consul General of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Turkey (Istanbul) due to the transfer to another job and the Decree of the conferment of the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and the appointment of O. Charyev Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Ar Riyad).
The report on the outcomes of the working visit of the Chairman of the State Committee for Statistics to attend the 54th meeting of the Council of Heads of Statistical Services of the CIS States on October 14-17 was presented. The issues related to the activities of the Council, the work done by the CIS Interstate Statistical Committee and the 2020 census of agriculture and population census in the CIS region were discussed. The unanimous decision on the presidency of Turkmenistan over the Council of Heads of Statistical Services of the CIS States in 2016 was adopted.
The report on the events marking the 24th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan to be held in the capital and regions of the country was presented. The festive concert will be held at the Congress Palace and the music show will take place at the Ashgabat Stadium on October 26. The ceremony of laying flowers to the Monument of Independence and the parade and the festive concerts at Ylham Park and on the square in front of the Alem cultural and entertainment centre will take place on October 27. The Independence Day celebrations will continue at the International Equestrian Sports Complex on October 28.
The report on the progress of seasonal agricultural activities was presented. The winter crop planting and cotton campaigns are nearing completion.
The report on the preparations for the conference of Magtymguly Youth Organisation of Turkmenistan was presented.
The information on the progress of construction work on the gas chemical complex that will produce polyethylene and polypropylene in Kiyanly village, located on the Caspian Sea coast, was presented. The project is implemented jointly with LG International Corp., Hyundai Engineering (Republic of Korea) and Toyo Engineering Corp. (Japan). All works are carried out according to schedule.
A number of construction projects, including engineering infrastructure facilities, office buildings, storage tanks and other facilities, are being implemented. Construction work on the plant that will produce gasoline from natural gas, located in Ahal Velayat, is carried out according to schedule. This large-scale project is implemented jointly with Japanese Kawasaki and Turkish Ronesans Holding.
Turkmenhimiya State Concern is currently carrying out the preparatory work on the project of the modern complex in Mary that will produce nitrogen fertilizers and other chemical products. The plant with an annual capacity to produce 300,000 tons of ammonium nitrate, 450,000 tons of carbamide and 20,000 tons of urea-formaldehyde concentrate will be put into operation at the Maryazot Production Association.
The Turkmen leader approved the proposal to hold the international tender for consulting services on the design and construction of the industrial complex in Mary that would produce nitrogen fertilizers and chemical products.
The report on the participation of the Turkmen delegation in the CIS Summit of Heads of State in Kazakhstan was presented. A number of important issues and draft documents, including the declaration of Dashoguz – the velayat centre of Turkmenistan the cultural capital of the Commonwealth of Independent States in 2016, was placed on the agenda of the Summit. This proposal was unanimously supported and accepted in continuation of the Interstate Programme on the Cultural Capitals of the CIS.
The report on the preparations for the opening ceremonies in the framework of the 2nd construction stage projects in Tyaze zaman village in Ovadandepe gengeshlik, Derveze Etrap, Ahal Velayat was presented.
With a view to implement the Concept of the development of Turkmenistan’s power industry for 2013-2020 the President signed the Resolution on the construction of a gas turbine power plant in Serdarabat Etrap, Lebap Velayat.
The report on the preparations for a regular session of Mejlis of the fifth convocation scheduled for October 24 was presented. A number of documents, including on the amendments and additions to existing legal acts on administrative violations, notarial system and notarial activities, customs, family, housing and other issues, are to be considered at the parliamentary session. The documents on the accession to a number of international agreements will be considered.
