President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov attended the festive events at the International Equestrian Sports Centre, marking the 24th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan.
The cabinet ministers, the heads of Mejlis, military and law enforcement agencies, ministries and departments, the hyakims of the regions and Ashgabat, the heads of diplomatic missions and international organisations accredited to our country, ambassadors of Turkmenistan in foreign countries, representatives of public organisations and the media, citizens and guests of the capital of Turkmenistan gathered together in a picturesque locality at the foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains. The guests included numerous foreign visitors, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the celebrations in honour of the 24th anniversary of sacred independence of Turkmenistan.
The celebrations took place on the territory of the festively decorated International Equestrian Sports Centre. The yurts, representing the five regions of Turkmenistan, were installed, and ancient Turkmen music and melodies were heard there.
Then the competitions started. Ahalteke horses displayed their agility and speed in seven horse racing events.
Ten three-year-old horses participated in the first horse races for the prize established by the financial, economic and banking institutions. The bay mare Mubarak, bred at the President of Turkmenistan Ahalteke Horse Breeding Complex, was the first to finish. The master jockey T. Babaev rode the mare that was bred and trained by the master jockey and horse trainer K. Agamyradov. It ran 2,400 metres in 2 minutes 47.6 seconds. The black mare Ovadangush, bred at D. Kovusov horse farm, took the second place and the black stallion Darkesen, bred at the horse farm of the State Service for the Protection of Security of the Healthy Society, took the third place in the competitions.
The length of the second horse races for the prize established by the oil and gas ministries was 2,400 metres. Ten fast horses participated in the competitions. The black stallion Yalta, bred at the horse farm of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, showed the best result. B. Berdymuhamedov rode Yalta, bred by the master horse breeder B. Babaev. Its result was 2 minutes 42 seconds. The bay stallion Korpam, bred at A. Amanlyev horse farm, took the second place and the dark dun stallion Nesip, ‘registered’ at the horse farm in the Garadashayak housing area in Ruhabat Etrap of Ashgabat, took the third place in the competitions.
Fast horses were to run 2,800 metres in the third horse races for the prize established by the trade departments. The dark black mare Senem, bred by Honoured Horse Breeder of Turkmenistan B. Hydyrov at the horse farm of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, was the first to finish. J. Hydyrov rode the winner. Its result was 3 minutes 15.3 seconds. The bay mare Senemgul, bred at N. Japarov horse farm, was the second to finish. The chestnut stallion Kopetdag, bred at the horse farm of the Ministry of Industry, ranked third in the competitions.
Fast horses at the age of four and older participated in the fourth horse races. Its length was 3,000 metres. Ten fast horses competed for the prize established by the transport and communications ministries. The sorrel stallion Keimirdon, bred at the President of Turkmenistan Ahalteke Horse Breeding Complex, was the first to finish. Its result was 3 minutes 30.3 seconds. It was trained by the master jockey and horse trainer K. Agamyradov and ridden by the master jockey B. Agamyradov. The chestnut stallion Gerchek, bred at the horse farm of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, took the second place and the grey stallion Gyrgaplan, bred at the horse farm of the Prosecutor General’s Office, took the third place in the competitions.
The chestnut stallion Gumman, bred at the President of Turkmenistan Ahalteke Horse Breeding Complex, was the first to finish in the fifth horse races (3,000 metres) for the prize established by the construction and energy ministries. Its result was 3 minutes 36.2 seconds. The master jockey T. Babaev rode the winner, bred by the master jockey and horse trainer K. Agamyradov. The dark bay stallion Garlavach, bred at the horse farm of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, took the second place and the bay stallion Serkerde, bred at the horse farm of the Ministry of National Security, took the third place in the competitions.

The bay stallion Kemer, bred at the President of Turkmenistan Ahalteke Horse Breeding Complex, was the first to finish in the competitions for the prize established by the industrial ministries. Its result was 3 minutes 43.5 seconds. The master jockey B. Agamyradov rode the winner, bred by the master jockey and horse trainer K. Agamyradov. The chestnut stallion Jygylbek, bred at the horse farm of the State Customs Service, ranked second and the black stallion Hanpolat, bred at the horse farm of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, ranked third in the competitions.
