President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani had a telephone conversation.
President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani expressed gratitude to the Turkmen leader and the people of Turkmenistan for the humanitarian assistance to the earthquake victims in Afghanistan.
The leader of the friendly state thanked the President of Turkmenistan for the active support in strengthening the principles of peace and social and economic development in Afghanistan by supplying electricity and liquefied gas, building industrial and social facilities and providing assistance in training Afghan youth and specialists.
President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Turkmen leader for laying a section of Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan railway to the border of Afghanistan and the measures taken to increase the volumes of electricity supplied to Afghanistan.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan would continue providing the active support to the international efforts in reviving neighbouring Afghanistan and its social and economic infrastructure supporting Afghan citizens in their aspiration for peaceful and prosperous life. The Turkmen leader invited his colleague to take part in the solemn ceremony of laying the foundation of one of the largest gas pipelines on the continent – Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India on December 13, 2015.
