President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received Minister of Road and Urban Construction of the Islamic Republic of Iran Abbas Ahmad Ahundi.
In the course of the meeting, the special attention was paid to the issues of realization of a series of new joint projects, in particular, on construction of Serahs Bridge, Serahs-Tejen road, establishment of cooperation between seaports. It was also discussed the issues of development of transit potential of Iran-Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan railway and reached the agreements on conducting the trilateral negotiations Iran-Turkmenistan-Armenia. It was also held the interested view exchange concerning construction of a transit corridor to India through the south of Iran as well as inclusion in this route of sections China-India and Turkmenistan-Iran.
Abbas Ahmad Ahundi conveyed to the President of Turkmenistan on behalf of the President of Iran the invitation to be the guest of honor at the Summit of the heads of countries-manufacturers of natural gas to be held in the near future.
During a meeting, the Turkmen leader and his guest have discussed the possibilities of activation of mutually beneficial ties in the field of road building and development of urban infrastructure, which improvement is of vital significance taking into account grandiose plans of development of the Turkmen capital and other largest cities of the country.
