President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Chairman of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the XX International Exhibition and Scientific Conference “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2015”.
Various aspects of cooperation in the sphere of economy and prospects for implementation of mutually beneficial joint projects, in particular in the fuel and energy sector were discussed during the meeting. It was noted that Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, that possess powerful energy potential had taken active steps to develop their abundant hydrocarbon deposits and diversify energy supplies to the world markets, including the Caspian region. Consolidation of efforts of the two neighbouring states in this sphere will contribute to addressing such important problems of modern time as energy security in Europe and Asia and creation of conditions for the global sustainable development.
