President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Sergey Prikhodko, who arrived in the capital of Turkmenistan to participate in the 9th session of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian commission on economic cooperation.

During the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation discussed the status and prospects for cooperation. The was placed on the huge potential and opportunities for the further intensification of cooperation in a number of key areas, including the trade and economy, fuel and energy sector, agriculture, chemical and processing industries, transport and communications spheres among others. The parties expressed mutual interest in enhancing interstate relations in the cultural and humanitarian spheres, in particular in the sectors of science, education and sport.

Taken an opportunity, the leader of the Turkmen state invited the heads of the friendly country to take part in the festivities on occasion of the 20th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality, particularly in the high-level international conference dedicated to this remarkable date.
