Today, on the instructions of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Chairwoman of the Parliament of Turkmenistan A. Nurberdiyeva accepted the credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation Mr. Phillip Schtalder.
During the talk, Phillip Schtalder, having noted invariable adherence of two countries to principles of permanent neutrality acting as a basis for constructive interstate interaction, emphasized the importance of the international legal status of neutral Turkmenistan as effective tool not only in the field of maintenance of peace and climate of confidence in region, but also solution of all global problems from position of peace-making diplomacy.
Issues of strengthening of inter-parliamentary ties and exchange of accumulated legislative experience in the context of prospects of the Turkmen-Swiss cooperation became a separate topic of conversation.
In the course of the meeting, it was also expressed the mutual opinion on prospect of business partnership in such directions as trade-economic, fuel-energy and humanitarian spheres, agriculture, sports and tourism as well as other not less important areas, which development is of great significance for Turkmenistan and Switzerland.
