The two-day official visit of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Islamic Republic of Turkmenistan has started on November 22. Within the framework of the visit, the leader of the Turkmen state will hold talks with the leader of the friendly country and will participate in the Summit of Heads of Gas Exporting Countries.
During the meeting in Tehran, the leaders of the two friendly states will discuss a complex of issues of the constructive cooperation in a wide spectrum of areas, first of all, in the trade and economy, transport and communications spheres, the fuel and energy sectors. The Presidents of Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran will exchange their views on a number of issues of the regional and international policy. In particular, particular attention will be paid to the joint efforts to be taken to ensure peace, stability and global security, including one of the most important component – energy safety.
The agenda of the Summit of the Heads of the gas exporting states on November 23, to attend which President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was invited as the Guest of Honour, will focus on the energy safety issues.
As a world energy state that possesses huge reserves of hydrocarbon resources proved by authoritative independent experts, our country pays particular attention to the reliable and continued access to energy sources, development of common principles and rules regulating relations between producers, transit countries and users of energy resources.
