President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was awarded with the Medal of the International Organization of Turkic culture. The award was presented at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan by Secretary General of TURKSOY Dusen Kaseinov.
The head of the international organization has expressed deep gratitude to the Turkmen leader for the most active attention to the issues of cultural interaction between the brotherly nations, support in organization of joint activities, strengthening the ties of friendship and creative relationship. Having noted the high level of forums, exhibitions, meetings and other events held within the framework of the Program “Mary - the cultural capital of the Turkic world 2015” and expressed confidence in continuation of fruitful interaction of Turkmenistan with TURKSOY member countries in the field of culture and art, D. Kaseinov emphasized that the fact of announcement of Mary as cultural capital of the Turkic world in the year of the 20th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality is particularly symbolic.
The policy of independence and permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan inspired with cultural and spiritual national values can be a model of establishment of international relations, said the Secretary General of TURKSOY.
In response, the head of state said that he perceives this medal as a reward for independent neutral Turkmenistan, all Turkmen people. Having expressed sincere gratitude, the Turkmen leader emphasized that Turkmenistan maintains close cooperation within the framework of international organizations, including TURKSOY that contributes to the consolidation of the cultural partnership between the Turkic-speaking states, opens broad prospects for mutual enrichment of cultures of the brotherly nations.
Careful preservation and deep study of ancient heritage - one of the most important directions of the state policy, said the President of Turkmenistan, having expressed confidence that the current events held in the framework of the Year of Mary 2015 will open a new stage in revival and development of the cultural traditions of the Turkic people, strengthening of mutually beneficial relations.
