President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a meeting of the State Security Council, during which the work done by the military and law enforcement agencies in January-November, the measures taken to strengthen and modernize their material and technical base, the fulfillment of the Turkmen leader’s instructions to maintain the social and political stability and ensure legitimacy and public order in the country were discussed.
The members of the State Security Council presented the detailed reports on the current situation in the spheres under their supervision and the fulfilment of the Turkmen leader’s instructions.
The reports spotlighted the achievements in promoting the military reform aimed at strengthening the national army, training military specialists and creating favourable conditions for the life and service of military servants.
The reports on the measures taken to strengthen border security of the Motherland and the on-going work carried out in accordance with the Turkmen leader’s instructions, the progress in implementing the projects for reconstruction and construction of frontier posts and supplying them with advanced technologies, strengthening discipline among military servants, improving professional skills of young frontier guards, were presented.
The reports on the work done by the Ministry of Internal Affairs for eleven months of the year, in particular the measures taken to maintain public order, ensure fire safety and prevent traffic accidents, were presented.
The information on the specific measures taken by prosecutor’s offices to exercise strict oversight on the observance of laws in the state and society was presented.
The report on the measures taken to improve the judicial system and bring it in line with international standards was presented.
The information on the specific steps taken by the State Service for the Protection of Security of the Healthy Society in the framework of the programme to combat illicit drug trafficking was presented.
The leader of the Turkmen state was informed on the work done by the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan in January-November, 2015, including the measures taken to improve the activities of the customs posts and visitor control centres.
The report on the fulfillment of the Turkmen leader’s instructions to improve the activities of the State Migration Service in the framework of implementation of the key priority of the state policy – widen international cooperation was presented.
The report on the work done by the Ministry of Justice for the eleven months of the year, in such as an important sphere of its activity as the comprehensive development and improvement of national legislation in compliance with the generally-recognized standards of the international law, was presented.
Commenting on the reports of the members of the State Security Council, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on a number of key moments that contribute to successful implementation of the state development goals. The Turkmen leader emphasized the importance of strengthening discipline among military servants, improving professional skills of military and law enforcement officers and bringing the younger generation to love the motherland and selflessly fulfil of the sacred military duty in the name of peace and prosperity in the country.
