The Cabinet of Ministers reviews the work done in January-November

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, during which the work done in all the sectors of the national economy in January-November was reviewed and a number of other important issues of the domestic policy and draft documents were discussed. The Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers presented the reports.

As reported, the GDP growth rate made 107.1 per cent in the reporting period, including in the industrial sector – 102.6 per cent, construction sector – 110.1 per cent, transport and communications sectors – 110.2 per cent, trade sector – 111 .1 per cent, agricultural sector – 110.4 per cent and services sector – 111 per cent.

In January-November, the industrial production growth rate increased to 105.4 per cent as compared with the same period in 2014.

The sales volume in retail trade rose by 18.2 per cent as compared with the same period in 2014.

Positive growth dynamics in foreign trade was observed in the reporting period.

The average monthly salary at large- and medium-scale enterprises throughout the country increased by 9.5 per as compared with the same period in 2014.

The State budget execution in revenues made 100.1 per cent, in expenditures – 85.1 per cent.

In the reporting period, the volume of investment from all sources of funding amounted to 48.3 billion manat. The growth rate made 108.2 per cent as compared with the same period in 2014.

The report on the organizational measures taken to implement the state import substitution programmes and increase the volume of locally-produced goods exported to foreign countries was presented.

The report on the work carried out by banking institutions and the progress on the implementation of the earnings plan for the export of goods and services of the ministries and agencies was presented.

The report on the work done by MFA in January-November to achieve the objectives of the Concept of Foreign Policy of Turkmenistan for 2013-2017 was presented. The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs reported on the progress on the implementation of the programme of celebrations and festive events, marking the 20th anniversary of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan and the Year of Neutrality and Peace.

Reporting on the work done in the sectors under his supervision, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers S. Toilyev reported in particular that 33 secondary schools for a total of 18,050 schoolchildren and 17 kindergartens for a total of 2, 890 children were put into operation throughout the country in the reporting period.

Since the beginning of the year, Turkmen students have won 132 medals in the international intellectual contests, including 45 gold, 50 silver and 37 bronze medals. Students from higher educational institutions have won 19 diplomas and 8 certificates of honour and 114 medals in the international Olympiads and online contests, including 20 gold, 47 silver and 47 bronze medals, in the reporting period.

The report on the results of the V Turkmenistan-Germany Health Forum, which was held in Germany on November 5-6 and focused on the ways to assure quality treatment of leukaemia in children, diabetes prevention and professional development of doctors, was presented. The Turkmen delegates also learned about the work of air ambulance services.

The reports spotlighted the performance indicators of the national education system, health care and medical industry, sports and tourism sectors.

The report on the measures taken to enhance the cultural potential of the country, promote the mass media, publishing activities and cinematography and preserve and promote national heritage was presented.

Other issues of the domestic policy were discussed and the decisions were adopted during the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
