President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took part in New Year’s Eve celebrations at the main New Year’s Tree together with young citizens of our country. The beautiful fir tree, crowned with the eight-pointed star and the glowing numbers 2016, is standing on the square in front of the Alem cultural and entertainment centre.
Children from different regions of our country, including the best schoolchildren, winners in the subject Olympiads, sports competitions and art contests and children from the orphanages, gathered there. They looked forward to meeting with Ayaz Baba and Garpamyk – the main characters of New Year’s Eve celebrations.
The cabinet ministers, heads of Mejlis and military and law enforcement agencies and hyakims of the regions and Ashgabat came to the fairy-take town to share the joy of the upcoming winter holidays with children. The bus headed from the square in front of the Alem cultural and entertainment centre for the Congress Centre of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. On the way, the Turkmen leader talked to the children who recited the poems about the motherland.
Thanking the young artists for the kind words and wonderful poems, the President wished that they should receive good and excellent marks, maintain national traditions in a worthy manner, become the successors of the wise precepts of ancestors and the masters of the Motherland and make their contribution to the prosperity of Turkmenistan.
The Chairperson of Mejlis and the Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, who came to the Congress Centre together with their children and grandchildren, cordially greeted the Turkmen leader. A spectacular show with music, songs, dances and poetic dedications to the New Year’s Eve was performed. Children’s groups, folk and pop singers, renowned poets and theatre and cinema actors and actresses presented their talents to all participants in the celebrations.
