President of Turkmenistan held the first videoconference meeting in the new 2016 with the Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, the hyakims of the regions and Ashgabat. The key objectives in implementing the social and economic development strategy, the progress of seasonal agricultural activities and the organisational issues were discussed at the meeting.
The draft Resolution on the establishment and approval of the membership of the Organizing Committee for the celebrations and events to mark the declaration of 2016 the Year of Reverence of Heritage and Reforms in the Motherland was presented to the President for consideration.
The heads of regional administration reported on the current situation in the regions, the measures taken at livestock farms and the progress in seasonal agricultural activities. The information on the progress of construction work on facilities and the cultural actions and New Year’s Eve celebrations was presented. The Ashgabat Hyakim reported on the current situation in the capital city and the measures taken to beautify Ashgabat.
Emphasizing that the key aspects of the state policy included the preservation of tangible and spiritual values accumulated by the Turkmen nation over millennia, their worldwide popularization and actualization in modern Turkmen society as an ideological platform for the social, economic, scientific and technological progress of the country, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the Resolution on the celebrations and events to mark the Year of Reverence of Heritage and Reforms in the Motherland.
Dwelling on the important of further strengthening the national economy, the Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the need to take systemic measures to develop industrial infrastructure, put new industrial facilities into operation and diversify the manufacturing sectors of the country. In this regard, the Turkmen leader demanded that special attention be paid to the enhancement of the export potential of the national economy.
Noting that some of the etrap and town hyakims failed to properly perform their duties last year, which had resulted in decreased agricultural production and management errors, the President signed the Decrees on the dismissal of the hyakims of certain regions.
In conclusion, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov specified the important tasks to be achieved and gave the Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, the hyakims of the regions and Ashgabat specific instructions to take measures to achieve these tasks and ensure that the work in the areas under their supervision was effective and well-coordinated.
