President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held the first meeting of the State Security Council in the new 2016, during which the work done by the military and law enforcement agencies in 2015 was discussed and the important tasks of ensuring peace, stability and law and order were identified.
The members of the State Security Council reported on the current situation in the spheres under their supervision and the fulfilment of the Turkmen leader’s instructions.
The reports on the progress in implementing the military reform aimed at creating the most favourable conditions for service and life of military servants and building the capacity of the national army through strengthening the material and technical base of all the Armed Forces troops and training professional military personnel were presented.
The information on the situation on the state border and the measures taken in 2015 to enhance the protection of the sacred borders of the Motherland and speed up the implementation of a number of construction projects, in particular the projects of modern frontier posts, was presented.

The Turkmen leader said that A. Osmanov would be dismissed if he failed to eliminate the shortfalls.
It was noted that the customs services had intensified significantly their activities in recent years, following the establishment of Turkmenistan as an important hub of transport and transit on the Eurasian continent.
According to the reports, the activities of the Migration Service of Turkmenistan in 2015 reflected to the growing interest of world’s political and business circles and foreigners in Turkmenistan.
