President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a regular videoconference meeting with the Deputy Chairman in charge of the agricultural sector and the hyakims of the regions and Ashgabat.
The specific steps to be taken to achieve the top priority objectives set at the enlarged meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers focused on the work done in 2015 were identified and the major aspects of social and economic development of the regions, the progress of seasonal agricultural activities and construction work on a number of facilities were reviewed during the meeting.
Opening the meeting, the President gave the floor to the hyakims who reported in the current situation in the regions, including in the agricultural sector, the planned measures taken to prepare agricultural land and equipment for the upcoming cotton campaign. The information on the progress of construction work in the framework of the national rural development programme was presented. Deputy Chairman in charge of the agricultural sector E. Orazgeldiev presented the report at the meeting.
Commenting on the reports, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov demanded that the necessary measures be taken to speed up on-going seasonal agricultural activities throughout the country, ensure the coordinated activity of the relevant agencies on further development of the agro-industrial sector and irrigation of areas under crops and strictly monitor ongoing work in the agro-industrial sector.
Ashgabat Hyakim M. Abilov reported on the current situation in the capital city and the fulfillment of the Turkmen leader’s instructions to speed up landscaping activities in Ashgabat and keep the city clean and neat in compliance with requirements. The Ashgabat Hyakim informed the Turkmen leader on the programme of the celebrations marking the remarkable dates in the life of Turkmenistan.
The President once again emphasized that the main city of the country should be exemplary in all respects and instructed to take consistent measures in this direction. Noting that all the measures taken in Ashgabat to steadily improve social and living conditions of citizens and beautify the capital should be strictly monitored, the Turkmen leader gave specific instructions to the Ashgabat Hyakim in this regard.

Commenting on the report, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan severely reprimanded the Minister of Adalat for the improper management on the activities aimed at training highly qualified lawyers and studying international law, the shortcomings in the implementation of the universally recognized norms of international law in the legislation of Turkmenistan, noting that the Minister would be relieved of his post if he failed to eliminated the shortcoming as soon as possible.
The Turkmen leader underscored the need to take urgent measures to fulfill the tasks set at the enlarged meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers focused on social and economic development of the country in 2015 and to ensure the coordinated activity of all agencies.
