President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who is spending a short-term holiday in the Avaza national tourism zone, made a trip together with his associates on the Galkynys yacht along the Caspian seashore.
The 7-km navigable waterway blends well with the local landscape. The neat recreation area with cosy cafes and restaurants, a pier for pleasure boats, footpaths and biking trails stretches on the river banks, connected by motor roads and pedestrian bridges with openwork arches.
The width of the river allows river and marine vessels to freely move along it and get out to the open sea through special lock chambers. Fascinating tours along the picturesque water route that stretches through the national tourism zone are very popular with those who arrive in Avaza to recreate. The river is also intended to be a venue for water sports competitions, cultural events and festivals.
During the trip the President could see numerous facilities and construction sites in the national tourism zone. The river offers splendid panoramic views of Avaza with the architectural ensemble adorned with luxury hotels and comfortable recreation areas.
When walking along the bank of the Avaza River, the Turkmen leader focused on the need take policy measures for the protection of the environment and the maintenance of favourable environmental conditions. In general, the recreational component of the Avaza national tourism zone is related to the improvement of the health promotion network as stipulated by favourable climatic conditions of the seaside resort and local water and mineral resources with medicinal properties.
As of today, the network of hotels capable of accommodating a total of 8,500 holidaymakers at a time has been created in the seaside resort. Given the accelerating pace of on-going construction work on recreation facilities in the Avaza national tourism zone, many of which are to be put into operation in the near future, recreation and leisure opportunities will be created for a total of 10,000 holidaymakers at a time.
