On February 3, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Turkmenistan Khasan Sultan ogly Zeynalov, who conveyed the credentials to the head of state.
Having expressed gratitude for the audience time, the diplomat conveyed to the Turkmen leader the warm words of greetings from President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, who expressed interest in further progressive development of the intergovernmental dialogue, meeting the interests of two neighboring countries and their people.

Having congratulated Khasan Sultan ogly Zeynalov on the appointment to the post of the head of the diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan, the President wished him successes in his work aimed at intensification of the Turkmen-Azerbaijani dialogue both on bilateral and multilateral basis, first of all, through the authoritative international organizations, which is essential taking into account the proximity of views and approaches of two countries to the vital problems of the present.
In this connection, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani party for support of international initiatives put forward by independent neutral Turkmenistan from the rostrum of world forums and aimed, in particular, at the formation of new architecture of global security, transformation of the Central Asia and the Caspian region into zone of peace, stability and sustainable development.
In the course of the meeting, it was held the view exchange on prospects for further deepening and expansion of bilateral cooperation on a wide range of directions. The head of state and the Ambassador of friendly country noted the availability of solid potential for successive expansion of trade-economic relations, intensification of productive business contacts in the field of energy security, creation of transit-transport corridors.
In this context, it was noted that the geographical position of two neighboring countries linked since ancient times with the route of the Great Silk Road creates favorable conditions for the effective efforts in implementation of new projects on formation of transcontinental communication corridors, ensuring optimally profitable land and sea cargo transportation routes, and their integration into international logistic infrastructure.
Having noted with satisfaction the mutual interest, providing successive dynamics of business partnership, the head of Turkmenistan and the plenipotentiary representative of the friendly country stressed the significant role of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Azerbaijani Commission on trade and economic cooperation, as well as holding of regular ministerial consultations aimed at the comprehensive consolidation of the constructive dialogue.
Continuing the topic, it was emphasized the importance of further strengthening of traditional cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, which is an integral part of developing ties.
