President of Turkmenistan held a working videoconference meeting

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a working videoconference meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers in charge of the agro-industrial sector and the hyakims of the regions and Ashgabat. The issues of social and economic development of the regions, the progress of seasonal agricultural activities and the programme of the festive events for March were discussed during the meeting.

The President gave the floor to Ahal Velayat Hyakim A. Yazmyradov, who reported on the current situation in the region, the progress of land treatment activities and agricultural work on winter wheat fields and the programme of the festive events for March.

The Turkmen leader focused on the need to provide support to agricultural producers. The President said that substantial incentives to increase crop production should include the allocation of plots of land to farmers association to grow vegetables.

Balkan Velayat Hyakim D. Durdyev reported on the main development aspects of the western region of the country, the on-going work on agricultural lands and the preparatory work for cultural actions marking the spring holidays.

Commenting on the report, the President instructed the Hyakim to conduct analysis of the economic situation in the region and use capacities to intensify production, including in the agro-industrial sector.

Dashoguz Velayat Hyakim O. Gurbannazarov reported on the on-going work on the areas sown with winter crops, the preparation of agricultural machines for the cotton planting campaign and the measures taken to increase crop production.

The Turkmen leader underscored the importance of the timely and proper preparation of lands, tractors and trailers for the spring planting campaign. Priority must be given to the quality of on-going land treatment activities.

Lebap Velayat Hyakim Ch. Charlyev reported on the preparatory work for the planting campaign and the measures taken to improve soil fertility and fulfil the Turkmen leader’s instructions to distribute plots of land among farmers associations to grow vegetables. The information on the festive events marking the remarkable dates that would take place in March was presented.

The Turkmen leader underscored the need to take modern approaches to crop cultivation and effectively use agricultural technology, which would allow raising the level of crop yield and soil fertility, and gave special instructions to conduct continuous monitoring of the areas under crops and effective breeding activities and provide farmers with highly quality seeds and mineral fertilizers.

Mary Velayat Hyakim B. Annagurbanov reported on the current situation in the region, the on-going work on winter wheat fields, the preparatory work for the cotton planting campaign and the programme of festive events marking the remarkable dates.

Commenting on the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed to ensure that agricultural machines were prepared for the planting campaign. The Turkmen leader noted that priority attention should be paid to the most profitable crops when widening the range of crops.

The Turkmen leader instructed the heads of the regions to work actively on sustainable development of rural areas and their social infrastructure and underlined the need to conduct an in-depth analysis of the development of industrial sectors and implement investment and construction projects in the regions, seek opportunities to create new processing facilities in the agro-industrial sector and increase the production of high-quality food products.

Ashgabat Hyakim M. Abilov reported on the measures taken to develop the capital city, the progress of architectural and construction work and the fulfilment of the instructions on the modernisation of urban infrastructure and reconstruction of city roads. The Ashgabat Hyakim reported on the results of the work done to achieve the objectives set by the Turkmen leader at the videoconference meeting focused on the development of Ashgabat in preparation for the 2017 Asian Games.

Commenting on the report, the Turkmen leader emphasized that the capital city of the country should be exemplary in all respects. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that thought-out engineering decisions should be used for the reconstruction of city roads. Specific instructions on the preparatory work for the spring tree planting campaign were given.
