The cattle breeder of Peasants’ Associations named after S. A. Niyazov of Mahtumkuli etrap of Balkan province, is awarded with high title “Woman of the year”.

Trade of the shepherd precisely cannot be considered easy: in any bad weather, it is necessary to protect a flock. Moreover, when begins lambing, one can hardly find time even for sleep. in spite of all this Ogulsheker remains a hospitable mistress, loving wife and mother, the careing grandmother.

Ogulsheker’s flock is considerable enough - more than one thousand units of small cattle. Care of them does not provide neither a break, nor days off.

-Farmers do have time to get their breath. But, we, cattle breeders, do not have such happiness: lambing, feeding, maintenance, shearing, preparation for wintering, and again lambing. And so all year long. Thanks to the state for all-round support rendered to us - cattle breeders, - tell Ogulsheker. - Now the great attention is paid to breeding work, vaccination of animals, preservation of pasturable grounds, all year long animals are provided with balanced fodder diet.

Lambing time is the most intensive and responsible in our work. Looking after lambs is my favourite. I like to observe, how they grow up, frisking on a young green grass. And looking at them, I admire a picturesque landscape, have a rest in my soul, and weariness vanishes as magic.

Listening to the story of Ogulsheker, frankly speaking, about her hard work, I have not caught in her voice plaintive notes. Really, the shepherd is a trade of strong women.

- Every day in my life is happy because my life is filled with all that gives a sense of female happiness: home, favourite work, six children, grandchildren, studying at new up-to-date school. The state has allocated to my family a rent of two hectare land, on which we grow up vegetables. I cannot imagine at all that my life have developed differently, - tells Ogulsheker. - My ancestors lived on this land already hundreds of years, my grandmother grazed cattle, my father, me, and now my son are a dynasty of cattle breeders. And I am very proud of it.

Here she is - unique in Mahtumkuli etrap of Balkan province woman - shepherd Ogulsheker Dovletova. Her happiness is in simple and habitual - in what is dear to her heart: native land, home, family, favourite work that has become a vocation.
