Presidents of Turkmenistan and Pakistan discussed the potential of interstate cooperation

At the Aiwan-e Sadr Palace of the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan held a meeting between Presidents of Turkmenistan and the heads of the friendly state of Mamnoon Hussain.

After the meeting, in the hall of the Government House, President of Pakistan held the one-to-one talks with members of the official delegations of the two countries.

President Mamnoon Hussain underlined the keen interest of Pakistan in widening productive inter-state cooperation in economic and trade sectors, as well as deepening traditional humanitarian and cultural ties which has long-standing roots.

The important landmark of Turkmen-Pakistan partnership was also inaugurated the energy sector. The Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project promoted through concerted efforts as an illustrative example of mutual cooperation, which put on the importance of not only the involved states but also the entire region.

” Turkmenistan considers Pakistan in the capacity of perspective economic and trade partner. Today our countries have abundant opportunities for activization and diversification of cooperation in economic and trade, energy, industrial spheres and transport and communication sectors, including several other sectors. Here, a significant role is given to joint Interstate Committee as an effective mechanism in development of new perspective areas and forms of cooperation”, - noted President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

It was underlined the importance of strengthening and promotion of bilateral humanitarian and cultural cooperation which has rich history and ancient traditions. The actual direction was also considered with regards to enter cooperation in the field of sport.
