President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Minister of Commerce and Industry of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, who had arrived with the governmental delegation of the country to participate in the fourth meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmenistan-Saudi Arabia Commission for trade and economic cooperation and joint business forum.
Expressed gratitude for the opportunity to have a meeting and discuss important issues of interstate cooperation, the guest conveyed the head of the state warm greetings from the King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who addressed to the people of Turkmenistan sincere wishes for peace, prosperity and success.
Conveying the best wishes to the higher management of the friendly country, the Turkmen leader emphasized that the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with which Turkmenistan has long-standing relationship of trust is one of the strategic vectors of our foreign policy. As noted the Turkmen leader, the first time of his official visit in the capacity of President of Turkmenistan was the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Noting that Turkmenistan has tremendous potential for further diversification of the long-term partnership, the Minister of Trade and Industry of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia thanked the Turkmen leader for special attention to the issues of comprehensive expansion of established constructive dialogue. A vivid example of which is the recent events as the joint business forum and the fourth meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Saudi Commission on trade-economic cooperation as a powerful catalyst in the process of boosting bilateral relations.
The special topic of conversation was focused on boosting the cooperation in the fuel and energy sector. It was underlined that implementation of the energy strategy in Turkmenistan counts on up-to-date achievements of scientific-and-technological advances by involving leading foreign companies. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov proposed the partners from Saudi Arabia to thoroughly study the possibilities of implementing joint energy projects as a key sector for the national economies of both countries.
