President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a working videoconference meeting with the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, hyakims of the velayats and Ashgabat and the Minister of Culture.
The key objectives in implementing the social and economic development strategy, the progress of seasonal agricultural activities and the preparations for the forthcoming holidays were discussed at the meeting.
The floor was given to Ashgabat Hyakim M. Abilov, who reported on the on-going work on beautification and improvement of the architectural look of the capital city and the preparatory work for the forthcoming spring holidays – “A Drop of Water - A Grain of Gold” and the World Health Day.
Balkan Velayat Hyakim D. Durdyev reported on the current situation in the region, the fulfilment of the Turkmen leader’s instructions to ensure the high organizational level of the crops sowing campaign and cultivation of potato planted in 220-hectare area as well as other on-going agricultural activities.
Dashoguz Velayat Hyakim O. Gurbannazarov reported on the current situation in the region, the progress of the preparations for the cotton sowing campaign and cultivation of potato sown in 3.125-hectare area. The Turkmen leader was informed on the measures taken to prepare for the crops harvesting campaign and the progress of implementation of construction projects. The Dashoguz Velayat Hyakim reported on the preparations for the forthcoming spring holidays.

As was reported, 12 new laws, including the laws of Turkmenistan “On Ethics and Official Conduct of Public Servant” and “On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Organisations” among others were adopted during the meeting. Moreover, 17 existing laws and legislative acts were amended. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed belief that the laws and other important regulatory and legislative acts adopted during the meeting would promote the successful implementation of all reformatory programmes of the epoch of might and happiness.
Then Minister of Culture A. Garadjayev reported on the preparations for activities marking the declaration of Dashoguz the cultural capital of the Commonwealth of Independent States in 2016.
The President of Turkmenistan expressed belief that the large-scale actions on occasion of the declaration of Dashoguz the cultural capital of the Commonwealth of Independent States in 2016 would promote intensification of international relations in this important sphere and further strengthen the ties of friendship between the neighbouring countries. In this regard, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed the Minister to ensure a high level of organization of all cultural activities.
