Leading Turkmen sportsmen and their coaches participated in discussion of the important issues raised by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
Session took place in Sport Complex of the martial arts, which capacity - 5 thousand seats. Representatives of Executive Committee of Asian Games -2017 (organizers of conference), National Olympic Committee, scientists and teachers specializing in the field of sports medicine from the State Medical University and National institute of Sports and Tourism of Turkmenistan delivered their reports.
The conference participants were provided with updated and approved by WADA the list of forbidden doping preparations, which do irreparable harm to health of sportsmen. There are numerous examples, when adverse reaction to special medicines sent young and perspective athletes on “pension”. Moreover, the sportsman caught on a dope not only is disqualified, but also “casts a shade” on whole composition of the national team which can debar from such large competitions of the international level as the World and Asian Championships, the Olympic Games etc.
It was also underlined that in our country, according to the Law of Turkmenistan “On physical training and sports”, work on control of application of the forbidden medicines is conducted most decisively. Turkmen sportsmen, trainers, sport doctors always acted and will support fair sports and intend to maintain worthy reputation, including to get ready for victories during V Asian Indoor Games and Martial Arts.
At the end of April in the Olympic Township, it will be held a regular session of Organizing Committee of the Asian Games -2017. Among vital issues – the training of Turkmen sportsmen for Games-2017, organization of work of mass media, volunteer movements, etc.
