Agenda of the forum included the discussion of the priority tasks on implementation of “State program for 2015-2020 of State Youth Policy in Turkmenistan”, Action Plan for realization of this document, as well as introduction of changes and additions to the Charter of the Youth Organization and a series of organizational issues.
As it was mentioned in the delivered reports, the most important direction of the policy, being pursued by Turkmenistan, is the concern about growing generation. Issues of spiritual, moral and physical education of the youth are in the center of the President’s attention. Today, wide possibilities are created to get education in the light of modern requirements, the pursuit of science and creativity, to ensure full legal and social status of young citizens, protection of their rights and freedoms, support for young families.
Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Makhtumkuli - a large social organization established in November 1991, brings together more than 900 thousand citizens of Turkmenistan. Every year, the movement involves an increasing number of energetic and initiative representatives of the younger generation.
In this context, it was underlined the role of Youth Organization in the implementation of socio-economic reforms and the promotion of creative initiatives of the Turkmen leader. Particular attention was paid to creating the necessary conditions for all-round and harmonious development of young people, the organization of leisure of the younger generation, the statement in its environment of high spiritual and moral priorities, to intensify work in the field of promotion of sports and healthy lifestyle. At that, it was noted the importance of appropriate measures in cooperation with other public institutions of the country, government agencies, and higher and secondary educational establishments, institutions of science and culture.
One of the main directions of the state youth policy of Turkmenistan is to promote international cooperation in this field. As a result of support from the government, it was established productive relationships with international agencies, funds, organizations for education, science, culture and others.
In collaboration with the United Nations Organization, in particular with the United Nations Population Fund, it was successfully implemented a project in which framework, it was opened in Ashgabat and Mary the information-resource centers in the field of reproductive health of the youth. Representatives of the young generation of our country actively participate in the international conferences, summits, exhibitions. Thus, only within the last years, members of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Makhtumkuli were delegates of the Caspian Youth Summit, held in the framework of the 4th Summit of Caspian Sea countries, the 1st Global Forum on Youth Policy, a friendly meeting of young leaders of the countries of Eurasia, the International Youth Forum of the Millennium Development Goals , the International Conference “Population and Leaders of development”, the First Meeting of the youth of the Caspian states and others. The participants of the Congress noted the importance of strengthening the fruitful partnership with authoritative international institutions and youth organizations in different countries.
In the course of the regular congress, the participants discussed and adopted a new version of the Charter of the Youth Organization named after Makhtumkuli. Changes and additions made in the constituent instrument of the social structure, take into account, first of all, present-day realities, fundamental transformations that have affected the political, economic and cultural life of the country.
It was also elected the new membership for the Central Council, Presidium of the Organization and Central Auditing Commission was elected. Delegates of V congress elected Soltangeldi Babayev as Chairperson of the Central Council of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Makhtumkuli.
Youth Forum participants familiarized with the exhibits of the traveling exhibition, which tells about the successes and achievements of modern Turkmenistan, rich cultural heritage of the Turkmen people. Masters of the arts performed before participants the bright concert numbers.
