Such thematic Russian-language channels as “Science”, “History”, “24 dock”, “Live planet”, “Park of entertainments”, “Sundress”, “Mum” are presented for Turkmen audience. At present, the aforementioned TV channels are provided in free mode to TV sets of residents of Ashgabat through distributive IP - network of STS. Transfer of a television signal will be conducted in coordination with Close-End Joint-stock Company “Turkmen Satellite”, which renders outer-space communication services. Along with the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan, it included Close-End Joint-stock Company “Altyn Asyr” and the State Telecommunication Company “Turkmentelekom”.
Specialists of Joint-stock Company have coordinated with the Russian distributors the relay of new informative channels in a test mode on all territory of the country and other states of Eurasia. As a result of a preliminary broadcasting, it will be defined the directions of further cooperation, quantity of channels and other parameters of use of Turkmen Communication Satellite.
Already about a year, our satellite with high quality broadcasts the channels Altyn Asyr: Turkmenistan, Yashlyk, Miras, Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Turkmen owazy, Turkmenistan sport, as well as four open radio channels. Located in the circular equatorial orbit, 35786 kilometers away from the Earth surface and equipped with perfect onboard radio equipment, it accepts signals of earth radio stations, amplify them and relays to other earth radio stations located not only in Turkmenistan territory, but also all Central Asia, Iran, Turkey, the North Africa and majority part of Europe.
For reception of signals from orbit in Ahal and Dashoguz velayats there have been constructed two control centers of the artificial Earth satellite - the basic and reserve ones, equipped with aerials and special equipment for management of the space vehicle. On the "Orbit" earth station the aerial and equipment for transfer and reception of a television signal from the Turkmen satellite is installed.
This powerful space relaying station has 26 satellite transponders available. 10 radio-frequency channels "BSS" are intended for satellite television. Their throughput allows to broadcast tens of television signals both standard, and high definition ones. On each of radio-frequency channels depending on their resolution, it is possible to place 7 television channels of SD format (standard format) 4 HD-TV format (high definition) channels, two television channels of 3D-TV (three-dimensional) format. Thus, on tens of radio-frequency channels it is possible to place from 20 to 70 television channels. Moreover, the national communication satellite is capable to provide telecasts, data transmission, radiotelephone, telegraph and other kinds of communication between the earth stations located 10-15 thousand of kilometers away from each other.
Considering that today, technical possibilities of the space vehicle considerably exceed requirements of national television, the most part of communication channels of Close-End Joint-stock Company “Turkmen Satellite” offers in rent for translation of foreign TV channels. The position “TürkmenÄlem 52°E” satellite, covering considerable territories, will allow Turkmenistan to stand as the transit country in broadcasting the channels of Europe and Asia.
