The Training Centre with covered manege designed for training sessions in such equestrian sports events as horse racing, marathon, show jumping, etc. was opened at the Ashgabat Equestrian Sports Centre two years ago. Another architectural premier took place at the Ashgabat Equestrian Sports Centre on April 21.

In the morning, the leader of the Turkmen state arrived to the main entrance of the new facility built at the Ashgabat Equestrian Sports Centre.

The Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of Mejlis, military and law enforcement agencies, diplomatic missions accredited to our country, hyakims of the regions of our country and Ashgabat, journalists, foreign businessmen, the elders, horse breeders, horse trainers, jockeys, representatives of the Turkmen Atlary State Association and numerous connoisseurs of Ahalteke horses attended the ceremony. Delegates of international forums, which bring together specialists and experts of the equestrian industry in Ashgabat each year, including the VI Meeting of the International Association of Ahalteke Horse Breeding, the International exhibition and the VIII International Scientific Conference “Turkmen Horses and World Art of Horse Breeding” and officers of the Carabinieri Cavalry Regiment of Italy were invited to take part in the festivities.

The Turkmen leader warmly greeted the ceremony participants. Talking to the Italian carabinieri, the Turkmen leader asked them about their impressions of our country.

The President of Turkmenistan cut the ribbon under the storm of applause of those present and entered the territory of the new facility.

The facility built in the framework of the modernisation of the Ashgabat Equestrian Sports Centre occupies the territory of 70 hectares. It includes the VIP stands, two spectator stands designed for 300 seats each, 8,200-square metre show jumping arena, 0.32-hectare training area, various technical and auxiliary facilities and the car parking.

The show jumping arena 100 metres by 50 metres in size represents a rectangular field with ground tracks, along which the video monitors are installed. All necessary conditions are created at the show jumping arena to host high-class international tournaments.

To the sounds of the national music, 10 riders riding magnificent horses appeared on the show jumping arena. They lined up, greeted spectators and started their performance demonstrating graceful dressage out and show jumping techniques.

A trainer from Germany, who was invited to train young Turkmen jockeys, including students of the National Institute of Sports and Tourism, Turkmen State Institute of Culture and other educational institutions was among the riders.

The trainer of our team Katharina Jakob, who brilliantly performed on the arena together with her students, dismounted from the horse and reported to the President of Turkmenistan on the work done. Expressing gratitude to the German specialist and an old friend of our country, the Turkmen leader wished all the riders every success in their life and sports.

The Turkmen leader headed to the main building of the Ashgabat Equestrian Sports Centre driving the golf-mobile.

Young artists performed the stirring music and dance compositions on the square in front of the main building of the Ashgabat Equestrian Sports Centre.

Appraising the talent of children, the President of Turkmenistan headed to the VIP stands. Representatives of the ministries and departments of Turkmenistan, public organisations, the elders, horse breeders, journalists from Turkmenistan and foreign countries and numerous spectators gathered together on the stands.

Upon completion of the competitions of young jockeys, the Turkmen leader headed to the exit of the Ashgabat Equestrian Sports Centre crossing its territory. Along his way, the Turkmen leader watched the performances presented by youth musical groups, signers and athletes and visited the exhibition of works of young artists and sculptors, the successors of the national traditions of the fine and decorative arts.

The Turkmen leader bade farewell to the participants of the event and left the venue.

Winners of the competitions will be announced during the festivities on occasion of the Turkmen Horse Day, which is widely celebrated in our country on April 24.
