The five-storied building made of steel structures, glass and concrete, this area of 166 thousand square meters, a height of over 45 meters and a length of over 680 meters with a canopy over the facade in the form of a bird will be the most important part of the airport complex. which is being built by «Polimeks Insaat Taahhut we Sanayi Ticaret A.S.» (Republic of Turkey). These "air gates" annually receive and depart 14 million people. Passengers will be served more than 1,800 aviation professionals.

In the near future air travelers will benefit from luxurious lounges and spacious waiting rooms, they can walk along the wide corridors and moving sidewalks. They can go upstairs on elevators and escalators to appreciate the beauty of the high domed ceiling emitting soft daylight surrounded with volumetric visual effect of the tinted glass panoramic walls. The passenger terminal is being built in accordance with up-to-date high-tech equipment with functional capabilities. The entire airfield complex of the capital will meet the highest international standards.
Beside the impressive size of terminal, the general contractor has completed building of control tower, and located in it the air traffic control (ATC), which fully equipped with modern electronic equipment including contemporary air-navigation equipment to control entire air traffic in the airport’s territorial zone and outside of its boundaries in accordance with the standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
Innovative technologies and advanced materials used when building runway "South" the stretching length of which is 3.8 kilometers and a width of 75 meters, along with reconstructed runway "North" (3.8 km), provide a smooth landing of any type of modern aircrafts under the most difficult weather conditions, including wide-body aircrafts like Airbus A-380, Boeing 748-8, Boeing 777-300. The apron area will allow parking around the airport complex simultaneously more than 80 aircrafts. During the Asian Games in 2017 it is expected to have all aircrafts, when 62 countries will be participating in the global sports forum.
In the new terminal, it will be organized special conditions the delivery of arrived passengers from the platform to the arrival zone by buses and "the green corridor" which let rapid clearance of documents and check all the formalities with help of trained staff and volunteers. There are ongoing catering and duty free shops.
In the terminal, it is automatic passport information reading system and luggage shipment. It is located 54 registration desks for domestic and international airlines, seven areas relate to baggage receipts. There are waiting rooms, public catering, halls, auditoriums and other areas of the terminal are planning to be installed about four thousand comfortable seats, 15 jet bridges and 30 moving sidewalks.
At the entrance of the terminal to the hall with areas of over five thousand square meters and a height of several tens of meters will be located information desks, ticket offices, and registration desks, Internet cafe, waiting areas, cafes and restaurants. There will be mother and child room, special playgrounds, first aid room, media and retail kiosks, conference halls, museum and the hotel for transit passengers.
On the ground floor there are offices of aviation services, meteorological center, customs and customs control, the State Border Service, the ministries and departments. On airport land side there are post offices, public telephones, parking fee -kiosks, currency exchange offices, ATMs. There are left luggage office, networks of cafes and restaurants and retail stores.
Currently, in the terminal building, it is going on finishing work by the general contractor. Besides, rooms and passages are equipped with moving sidewalks, escalators, elevators and stairs which provide quick access to departure and arrival zones it is undergoing installation of service equipment, lighting and other engineering systems, and coating work of the interior.

Quality control of numerous facilities carries out the technical supervision of airport operations’ department and capital construction of the State National Service "Turkmenhowayollary". Consulting services, to monitor the compliance of all objects of airfield complex standards which adopted by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is provided by the German company “Airport Consulting Partners ILF Consulting Engineers”. The major objects of the airfield complex in Ashgabat - the passenger terminal, a second runway and a VIP-terminal will be ready in the first half year.
These days, out of 95 objects of the airport complex 35 have been taken into operation. It is undergoing classes in the new classrooms of the school of training of flight personnel. It is completed the construction of a logistics center, building of airfield services, sports complex basis, control tower, air traffic services, emergency rescue stations and other objects.
In the near future, the current construction facilities will include newly built second runway, freight handling and mail cargo terminal with a capacity of 200,000 tons per year, the building for reparation on-board food and beverages, the center for the global aircraft technical maintenance and other facilities.
