The public action which has taken place on May 1st, in the capital park "Ashgabat" has been dated to this important event.
The heroes of fairy tales and adventure films, volunteers of V Asian indoor and martial arts games have met the visitors arriving here. The smallest participants received as a gift balloons, toys and sweets, and their parents - information materials on harm of smoking and t-shirts with the action motto, calling to refuse an addiction. On a scenic platform, the concert program consisting of vocal and dancing numbers, as well as demonstration performances of sportsmen has been presented. In breaks between performances, the animators organized informative quizzes both for adults, and for children.
On an external circle of the central platform of park, tables with information materials about healthy lifestyle, the brochures telling about harm of tobacco smoking and other fatal for people health habits were located. Each interested person could write an appeal to refusal of smoking. The particular interest of young participants has involved a creative corner where it was possible to learn the creation of origami, to comprehend elements of aqua make-up and technology of patterns drawing with henna.
Central park alley has turned today to the improvised Health House. Doctors of the capital establishments of the public health conducted reception, suggested all interested people to pass small inspection - measured pressure, height and weight, conducted the express test for the sugar content in blood. And, already after results of the "check" of health they made recommendations to each addressed.
On park avenues a thematic exhibition of posters has been developed. All of them have been presented on competition that was conducted among medical workers of the country. The special jury estimated works and defined the winners, who then became owners of valuable prizes. Young artists settled down on park lawns.
Among honoured guests of the action, there were participants of the WHO Regional meeting on antitobacco problematics, which have come to the end the day before in Ashgabat, representatives of missions of the World Health Organization working these days in Turkmenistan, as well as representatives of the organizations-members of national Interdepartmental coordinating committee on struggle against tobacco.
The Ministry of Health and medical industry and Country office of the WHO, in partnership with capital management of culture, Municipal police department, Ashgabat city public health management, Information centre of the Ministry of Health and medical industry, National society of the Red Crescent, Union of industrialists and entrepreneurs and trade union workers of public health services were the organizers of the action.
