The organizers of the representative forum were Mejlis (Parliament) of Turkmenistan jointly with the Democratic Party and other major public organizations of the country
To participate in the conference dedicated to the Day of the Constitution of Turkmenistan and Magtymguly Fraghi Poetry, it was invited national parliamentary deputies, representatives of the Turkmen National Institute of Democracy and Human Rights under President of Turkmenistan, the Institute of State and Law under the President of Turkmenistan, representatives of various sectors of the economy, civil society organizations, media and students.
The Fundamental Law established the social and political structures, became the core of all current national legislation in the main regulations and principles of which are reflected generally accepted norms of international law, and the centuries-old experience of the people in building of the state.
As a normative legal act of higher legal force, a stronghold of civil peace and national harmony in our society, the Fundamental Law of Turkmenistan has been constantly improved, reflecting important country's historical events and changes in the socio-political life of the country. The most important changes are associated with the adoption of the United Nations General Assembly resolution "On permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan," dated December 12, 1995.
The conference opening, plenary meeting and closing which took place at the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, continued in the three breakout sessions, held on the same day at the International University of Humanities and Development, the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly and the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
