The delegation of our country’s creative intelligentsia went to Gulistan province of Islamic Republic of Iran for pilgrimage to the resting place of prominent sons of the Turkmen people - poets Mahtumkuli Fragi and Dovletmammed Azadi.
Traditionally, the pilgrimage to the tombs of Turkmen classics in the village of Gulistan province is annually performed on the eve of the Day of Constitution of Turkmenistan and poetry of Mahtumkuli Fragi.
Among the pilgrims are the masters of culture and arts, scientists, teachers of the higher educational establishments, school teachers, representatives of social organizations and mass media, elders, who will take part in the solemnities in honor of the classic of Turkmen literature.
Today, in Serdar town of Balkan province, elegantly decorated with flags, flowers and festive banners, the delegation members were welcomed with bread and salt, performances of actors. Poems and songs to the verses of Makhtumkuli, which merged harmoniously great talent, amazing insight and sensitive soul of national poet, were sounded with inspiration.
In his native land, in administrative center of Mahtumkuli etrap, the pilgrims visited the new opened in 2015, cultural and memorial complex, where they laid flowers to the monument to the great Fragi surrounded by sculptural statues of other prominent poets - Magrupy, Kemine, Myataji, Zelili, Seydi, whose creative heritage is a priceless national treasure.
