By the decision of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, this day was included in the list of official holiday dates of our country as the expression of solidarity with world community on its way to establishment of universal values and ideals as well as the expression of the essence of the state policy taken by the Leader of the Nation. Its fundamental aim is creation of such conditions of people’s life when human being feels himself protected and has equal social opportunity, including the youngest who require special care.
State policy in the sphere of family, parents and children care is inseparable from national economic strategy aimed at the growth of Turkmen people well-being, quality of human life, revelation of spiritual, intellectual and creative potential of society.
In fact, social health of community is determined by care for mother and children, succession of family principles, spiritual and moral traditions, state support of institution of marriage and family having many children.
Giving out new apartments to the families having many children is one of the expressions of such thorough attention from the government. Every year, mothers who gave birth to 8 or more children are given with honourable title of Turkmenistan “Ene myahri”.
Modern medical centres “Ene Myahri” built in the capital and different regions of the country not only render quality medical attention today but also are large scientific centres carrying out the researches aimed at health improvement of mother and child and family planning.
Successful realization of national programme for breast feeding and combat anaemia received high appraisal from large international organizations. In particular, almost every obstetrical institutions of the country were awarded with high status “Hospital of friendly treatment of the child” which is officially approved by the experts of WHO.
Scientific and Clinical Centre for Preservation of Health of Mother and Child for 670 patients built by the initiative of president Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was opened in July of last year. This largest medical facility includes 28 departments and combines main areas of science and practice of obstetrics, experience and modern technologies of tocology, perinatology, intensive care and reanimation of new-born children, medical genetics, reproductive care, diagnostics and consulting, child disease treatment and many others.
As it is known, Turkmenistan partners are the largest international organizations including UNICEF who takes active part in the programmes for protection of motherhood and childhood successfully realized in our country. Thus, one of the aspects of this work is the realization of programmes for early development of child and implementation of practice of early intervention, training and improvement of professional skills of paediatricians, development of protocols for diagnostics, monitoring and estimation of developmental defects of infant and young children, organisation of integrated system of early care services.
Under the leadership of Head of the State Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, our country achieved significant progress in the sphere of medical care. For example, there are considerable decrease of diseases, reduction of mother and infant mortality as well as high level of wide coverage of immunization of children amongst such successes. Training of medical personnel, improvement of infrastructure, logistic and methodological bases of health care are carried out all the time.
Along with this, the legislation system in childhood and protection of the rights of mother and child sphere is permanently developed. In particular, national parliament adopted new Law of Turkmenistan on “Propaganda and Support of Breast feeding” in May of current year.
Following high spiritual traditions and principles of Turkmen society, the great attention in our country is paid to the support of the most vulnerable levels of population including children with limited physical abilities, implying the complex of legal guarantees and committed economic and social measures.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gives special role to the development of international partnership in these directions defining the range of main provisions in Action Plan of Country Programme for Cooperation between the Government of Turkmenistan and UNICEF for the period of 2016 – 2020 signed on March 23.

First Chess Championship of Turkmenistan among the children up to 6 years was conducted recently in order to promote this intellectual sport amongst young generation of people of Turkmenistan and to attract them from the early age to sport sections.

The number of children recreation centres located in picturesque place Gyokdere and on the coast of the Caspian in National tourist zone “Avaza” is increased with every year. The same health resorts were built in the velayats.

As it is highlighted by the Head of our State, the education of growing generation is one our main matters in new age. The state assumes responsibility for care of children without parents creating all conditions for them to have big and friendly family and to feel themselves to be needed by this family – our society. This is not just a social measure for support of the most vulnerable levels of population but one of the spiritual principles and everlasting standards of Turkmen people.
Today, this humane tradition implies the complex of legal guarantees for provision and protection of rights and legal interests of the children as well as system of economic measures and social actions aimed at full involvement of orphan children in social sphere, their preparation for independent life, development of their socially meaningful and creative activity, education of high moral merits, patriotism and citizenry.

New super modern training and educational complexes provided with new technologies of education, first of all with innovative and interactive systems and hi-tech equipment were built and continued to be built for the sake of harmonically development of growing generation throughout the country – in the capital, velayats’ centres and rural hinterland.

Ceremonial opening of new complex of facilities of Teachers' Training College named after Aman Kekilov took place on September 1 of the last year with participation of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
One of the oldest educational institution in the country training teachers of primary school with the right of teaching of the Turkmen language and literature, mathematic, history, geography, labour, the English language for 5 and 6 forms as well as kindergarten teachers with right of teaching English received not only new building but innovative equipment with hi-tech computer wares and multimedia systems.
Moreover, shortly, another season of summer holidays starts in children health centres of our country. The organizers of the season activity are ministries of education, culture and health care as well as sport departments, non-governmental organizations which have assignments by the Leader of the Nation to provide the kids with all opportunities for creative realization, broadening of their horizons, strengthening their health and simply their good mood.
The solemn ceremony of send-off of the kids from all over the country to unique natural health resort Gyokdere will take place at the square in front of capital Palace of Children and Youth on June 2. At the same time health resorts in National tourist zone “Avaza” will start receiving the kids.
