International Children’s Day is beautiful holiday signifying the triumph of such universal values as peace, humanity and friendship. This international holiday plays special role in social life as glorious date symbolizing the commitment of Turkmenistan to the basic principles of United Nations Organization in the sphere of rights and interests of children, effective care for young generation. In honour of this holiday, sport, cultural and public events are conducted broadly in the capital city Ashgabat and velayat centres, cities and etraps. Substantial and bright activities organized on the occasion of summer school holidays in modern children health centres in beautiful places of our nature like Gyokdere, National tourist zone “Avaza”, and velayats of the country inculcate the pride and high humanism in the hearts of growing generation. We are glad of the fact that international holidays took an honourable place in social life, giving the impulse to mutual approach of people of the planet.
The cardinal improvement of social and living conditions of native people, provision of comprehensive, harmonic physical, intellectual, spiritual, moral and social development of young generation - our future are the priority directions of state policy, that we conduct. Joyful life of sweet kids, their proper upbringing and good education – all of these is key for development of the society and the state.
Following these aims, great attention is paid to upbringing of the growing generation in the spirit of patriotism and humanity, its quality education, good leisure, physical and sport training in our Motherland. New kindergartens, schools children’s health centres and sanatoriums are built and put into exploitation in our country. Reforms aimed at creation of necessary conditions for acquisition of modern education and upbringing, sport and arts are successfully implemented.
Turkmenistan attaches special meaning to the development of multidimensional cooperation with the states of the planet, international and regional organizations. It fruitfully cooperates with the United Nations Children's Fund in the sphere of health care, protection of children’s rights, upbringing and education in accordance with universal ethic and democratic principles, protection of interests and rights of women and children, seeks for consolidation of efforts of world society in this direction.
In this context, our Independent State acceded to the range of basic international documents such as the World Declaration on the Survival, Protection and Development of Children, UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, related Hague Convention.
In addition, joint projects with United Nations Children’s Fund aimed at harmonic development of growing generation, increase of welfare, improvement of education and health care, promotion of healthy life style are successfully carried out in our country; topical seminars and forums are conducted what indicates on the growing role of Independent Neutral Turkmenistan in the processes of world development”.
