China's National Bureau of Statistics released data on the country's energy production and energy imports from January to November this year. In the gas sector, it is reported that natural gas production has accelerated and imports have slowed down.

Possessing colossal energy potential, Turkmenistan is the leader in the supply of pipeline gas to the PRC. At the launch of the project for the construction of three new gas wells at the Galkynyş field in August 2021, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the PRC to Turkmenistan Qian Nicheng recalled that since the start of the gas pipeline through which Turkmen natural gas is supplied to the PRC, China has imported more than 300 billion cubic meters Of "blue fuel" and retains the leadership as its importer from Turkmenistan.

The contract for the construction of new wells, concluded by the Türkmengaz State Concern with the Chinese company CNPC, will increase the export of natural gas to China and strengthen the comprehensive partnership in the fuel and energy sector in mutual interests. Practical aspects of further cooperation in the oil and gas and gas chemical fields, as well as issues related to the export of Turkmen natural gas to China were discussed at the seventh online meeting of the Subcommittee on Energy Cooperation of the Turkmen-Chinese Intergovernmental Committee on Cooperation in November. Within the framework of the meeting, issues of comprehensive cooperation were considered to increase the volume of trade, develop gas fields, increase production and expand cooperation in financing. The parties agreed to continue close cooperation in the oil and gas complex, also paying attention to such topical areas of energy cooperation as the development of renewable energy sources.
