Thanking for great opportunity to meet, the guest conveyed warm greetings and best wishes of President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani to President of Turkmenistan, and wished prosperity to the Turkmen nation and the further development of bilateral relations based on the inviolable traditions of friendship and good neighborliness. On this occasion, Abbas Ahmad Akhund expressed President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov heartily gratitude on the occasion of the beginning of Blessed Month of Oraza.
Welcoming the guest, and passing the best wishes onto the head of a friendly state, the Turkmen leader notes that Turkmenistan is always keep good relations with its neighbors, and is continue to strengthen fruitful dialogue for the benefit of the Turkmen and Iranian peoples tied with cultural and historical commonalities.
As noted, Iran attaches great importance to expanding of cooperation with our country, the guest stressed the importance of successful implementation under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, a constructive foreign policy based on the status of permanent neutrality, sustainable development and prosperity at regional and global levels.
Focusing on the existing impressive potential for building up bilateral relations, the Turkmen leader and his guest discussed the prospects of further strengthening of the Turkmen-Iranian relations in trade and economic, fuel and energy, scientific and technical and cultural and humanitarian spheres. To consolidate of productive relations it was stressed the importance of the role of the interstate commission, co-chaired by the Minister of Road and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Among the priority areas were identified transport and construction spheres. In this context, issues of implementation of important joint projects serve the economic prosperity of two friendly countries. Having highly appreciated the selected strategy by Turkmenistan with regard to establishment of a network of combined transport infrastructure at regional and transcontinental levels, Minister of Road and Urban Development of the IRI stressed that having conducted by Turkmenistan's policy on comprehensive modernization of the transport sector is already show visible results by creating a logistical infrastructure based on international initiatives. As noted, the important role of Iran-Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan railway, which is the key to transport corridor North-South designed to serve trade and economic relations not only between the neighboring states, but also on the entire Eurasian space.
Special attention are paid to intensification of cooperation in the field of road construction and development of urban infrastructure, modernization of which appears among the priorities of Turkmenistan's state policy. One of the topics of the meeting was the establishment of a productive partnership in the areas of maritime and air communications between our countries. In this aspect, the Iranian side proposed to cooperate in these areas in prospective.
The sides also noted the growth in trade and economic cooperation between two countries. As stated, having strived of the Iranian business circles to further increase the bilateral trade with Turkmenistan, Ahmad Abbas Akhund noted the effectiveness of interstate dialogue organized on systematic basis the joint economic forums and exhibitions, exchange of delegations at various levels.
Upon conclusion of the meeting President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Minister of Road and Urban Development of the IRI exchanged warm wishes, expressed mutual confidence in the successful continuation of dynamically developing cooperation built on and equal and mutually beneficial basis.
