President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has visited the Business – Centre of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs where he met with the members of its non-governmental organization.
As it is known, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov is initiator of foundation of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and actively supports the development of this non-governmental organization that combines 14 500 representatives of small and medium business and promotes the rise of their role in implementation of large-scale transformation programmes.
Today there Entrepreneurs school under the UIET. Trade house “Byasdesh” occupies his place in its structure as well. THE UEIT founded Joint-Stock Commercial Bank “Rysgal”. Our businessmen were the first who supported the initiative of the Head of the State on private media and founded “Rysgal” newspaper. The members of the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs established in 2012 bring considerable input in successful implementation of social and economic strategy oriented for consolidation of democracy principles in our country, provision of wellbeing of the people and prosperity of the Sovereign Motherland. The Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs is represented by the members of the National Parliament.
The annual UIET exhibition of the achievements of domestic entrepreneurship became traditional and gives the impression about the scale of the development of non-governmental sector of economy. First International Conference of Entrepreneurs took place in National tourist zone”Avaza” in this year what also indicates on their ever-growing capabilities.
The issues of further development of native entrepreneurship were that once raised by the Head of the State during Government sessions in the context of improvement of work of certain branches and large-scale economic transformations in our country. The progressive growth of the share of private business within GDP is visual evidence of the positive result of work undertaken in this direction as well as of the deserving input of entrepreneurship society in economic progress of Turkmenistan.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov went to the hall and studied the projects presented by the members of the UIET in different spheres of economy. These are industrial enterprises, facilities of agro industrial complex including livestock farms as well as large shopping centres, service enterprises, etc.
Among the project, there are an autobahn that meets highest requirements of international standards - Ashgabat – Turkmenabat highway with the length of 621 kilometres where 8 new intersections and bridges, campings, shops, restaurants, etc. are planned to be erected along its way and potash factory with annual production of 3 million tons of non-metallic materials and 1 million ton of potassium chloride in Koytendag etrap of Lebap velayat.
The Chairman of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs presented the project of cement factory supposed to be built in Jebel city of Balkan velayat. The annual output of the factory that will employ 200 people, is 300 thousands of tons of cement. This volume of construction material together with production of existing enterprises should be sufficient to satisfy the needs of Turkmenistan in cement.
The entrepreneurs suggest at their own cost to build export-oriented enterprise for production of rock salt with the output of 15 thousand tons per annum. The high technology plant will provide occupancy for 50 people bring considerable profit yearly by the export of this production highly demanded in the world market.
The pant for gypsum products and dry construction mixtures is offered to be erected at their own expenses at the same place. The plant with annual output of 60 thousand tons of production will fully cover the demand of this product on the internal market.
There is plant for production of ozocerite in Hazar city of Balkan velayat with output of 1000 tons of export-oriented product per year. This enterprises built at the cost of entrepreneurs will provide the employment for 40 people.
There are two iodine plants which production oriented mainly for export planned to be built by the members of UIET in Balkan velayat at their own cost.
The factories for production of decorative stones, which will be able to replace the considerable part of imported facing stones, are proposed to erect in Ahal and Balkan velayats. Both factories with total output of 50 thousands square meters per annum will be built at their own cost and give occupancy to 50 people.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was presented with the project in Turkmenbashy city where it is suggested to erect the plant on basalt and basalt fibre production with output of 3.5 thousand tons for the own and mobilized investments. This might cove the needs of Turkmenistan in basalt heat isolation and ultra-strong fibre might be widely used not only construction industry but in fuel and energy complex, aircraft construction, etc.
The creation of International logistics centre together with worldwide known “UPS” company is related to the projects in logistics sphere. The experience for serving the Olympics in 2008 in Peking and 2012 in London by this company may be claimed for conduct of Asian Games in 2017 in Ashgabat.
Separate sector of projects concern the development of agro industrial sphere and food processing industry. Among presented projects, there is bakery in Ashgabat oriented for production of 25 types of bread that may replace imported products.
Having familiarized in details with presented projects, the President of Turkmenistan made the range of concrete remarks and appropriate adjustments. Vice-premier R. Bazarov received instruction by the Head of the State to study the project of construction of mill plant and provision of sown areas for high-grade grains in order to provide the population with high-grade flour.
After, the exhibition of achievements of domestic entrepreneurs in import substitution and export-oriented production was introduced to the Leader of the Nation.
Having familiarized with the interest with the exposition, the Head of the State emphasized the urgency of the work carried out by the members of UIET for production of wide range of goods demanded not only in our country but also abroad.
After, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov went to the conference hall where members of government, leaders of military and law enforcement agencies, ministries and industry facilities, Union and Party of industrialists and entrepreneurs, members of their structural branches from regions of the country, large private enterprises gathered.

In the beginning of his speech, the head of the State emphasized the importance of the current meeting with entrepreneurs that occurred in the anniversary year for our country as well as in the Year of the heritage esteem and transformation of the Motherland. Its main target is to define the targets for the members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and indicate the ways for their solution, said the Leader of the Nation, having forestalled the discussion of these issues by coverage of the situation in national economy and works undertaken in this direction.
As mentioned by the Head of the State, currently, the global economy is going through the very difficult situation, the prices for raw materials considerably decreased. In these difficult conditions owing first of all to fair and energetic work of our native people, Turkmenistan managed to support the growth of gross domestic product on 6% level what gives possibility to provide the State budget with necessary funds, keep all benefits provided by the legislation for the population and implement all planned social programmes.
Speaking about consistent and systematic work undertaken for formation of free market economy in the country, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted the positive results, which are brought by improvement of national legislation as well as organizational and financial support of domestic entrepreneurship.
Currently in our country, more than 90% of agricultural food products and more than 60% of manufactured goods are produced in non-government sector. More than 90% in trade and service sphere are carried out by the entrepreneurs. Today. The demand of the population on meat, including poultry, milk, and eggs is satisfied by private commodity producers who provide the internal market with great part of fruit, vegetable and cucurbitaceous productions.
Speaking of the great role of representatives of private business in the development of trade and services, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed the attention on social aspect of their activity, having noted that entrepreneurs create numerous new job occupancies solving by this considerable social matters.
In the current year, continued the Head of the State, we prepare to adopt the new edition of the Constitution – the Main Law of the country. I am confident that one of the article will appoint the principles of support of entrepreneurs by the State.
Defining the priority targets for the members of UIET on today stage, the President of Turkmenistan called the production of competitive, import substitute and export oriented high quality goods meeting international standards as one of the most important. Establishment of the trade in accordance with time demands and service of the population on the high level were defined among the priority tasks as well.
The share of the private sector of economy of the country by 2020 should reach 70%. The entrepreneurs of the country should actively participate in provision of the state food security, - highlighted the Leader of the Nation.
In this context, the members of UIET have to facilitate the successful implementation of “National Programme for health nutrition of the population of Turkmenistan for 2013 – 2017”, “National programme for social and economic development of Turkmenistan for 2011 – 2030”, State programme for accumulation of the volumes of export of production made in Turkmenistan” and “State programme for import substitute production in Turkmenistan”.
The entrepreneurs should bring deserving input to the conduct high organization level of V Asian Games – said President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Highlighting the subject of international cooperation, the Head of the State emphasized the effectiveness of creation by entrepreneurs the joint ventures with foreign partners by mobilization of their investments as well as effectiveness of work in foreign countries especially in construction sphere where they achieved considerable results.
