On June 15 in the afternoon, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov left for a working trip to Dashoguz velayat.
At Dashoguz Airport the Head of the State was cordially welcomed by the Deputies Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of military and law enforcement agencies, the hyakim of Dashoguz velayat.
From the airport, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov went by vehicle to the mosque located in the centre of the city where he made sadaqah (traditional Islamic food donation) on the occasion of the Holy month of Ramadan.
Reflecting the wisdom, spirituality and traditions of the people, the Holy month of Ramadan us integral component of our cultural heritage what is very actual in The Year of Respect for Heritage, Reformation of Motherland. In this context, the fact that during the Holy month, the Head of the State visits regions where symbolic remarkable for our people sights are located, opens and lays foundation stones for new social and cultural facilities summoned to create the life of every family, every citizen of our country to be happier and more prosperous is demonstrative.
Generosity, faith in good, readiness to help the neighbour - since the beginning of time being distinctive features of Turkmen national character, owing to the Leader of the nation and his personal example have acquired higher humanitarian meaning.
As it is known, Kunyaurgench that left indelible trace in the history of civilization, the mausoleum of the Great Pir (spiritual leader) Najemeddin Kubra with adjoined ancient necropolis “360” witnessing about the saints buried here are located on the territory of the velayat.
The importance of thousands year glorious history of northern region of our country in the system of cultural interrelations of civilizations throughout the centuries, careful preservation of priceless historical and cultural heritage was highlighted by the appointment of Dashoguz as the cultural capital of the Commonwealth of Independent States in 2016. Within the framework of this status, here, International theoretical and practical conference “Turkmenistan is a place, rich with spiritual and cultural values” with participation of the scientists for the Commonwealth countries as well as exhibition of decorative and applied arts items will take place.
The vehicle of the Head of the State stopped at the complex of the grand mosque of Dashoguz velayat, which can be referred to the pearls of national architecture. The Leader of the Nation walked toward the central building.
Magnificent, white marble mosque with four minarets and domes crowned with gilt crescents is located along Gerogly Street, which is most beautiful and longest in Dashoguz.
The building of the mosque made in best traditions of the national architecture with ornaments of historical monuments located on the territory of the velayat in its design. The architectural dimensions of the building highlight its majesty – the diameter of the mosaic central dome of the mosque is 38 meters and the height is 40 meters, the height of each minarets is 63 meters. Besides the mosques, which can accommodate 3 thousand pilgrims, there is the pavilion for sadaqah for 1500 people there. 3-store hotel for 200 guests is provided with all necessary conditions for the comfort stay.
The Head of the State personally took part in the ceremony of laying foundation stone of the mosque in 2013 and in 2015 – in the opening ceremony. At the same time, the Leader of the Nation presented the Mufti of Turkmenistan with Holy Qur'an book as his gift to the mosque.
At the entrance of the mosque, Leader of the Nation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was met by the Mufti of Turkmenistan, the Imam of the velayat, and the representatives of the elders of the northern region.
The President of Turkmenistan walked inside the mosque.
It was reported to the Head of the State that there is sacred “teperrik” in the mosque gifted to the Leader of the Nation during his pilgrimage to Holly Kaaba made in the course of the official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Before breaking the fast, the Head of the State cordially greeted the respected elders and all other participants.
The Leader of the Nation mentioned that working trip to Dashoguz velayat made during Holly Ramadan acquires special sense and meaning because the Holy Ramadan rooted in the mists of time, concentrates the custom and traditions of the people, its cultural and spiritual heritage.
The Dashoguz land is the abode of the “pirs” known all over the world. Today, it is also famous for its ancient culture and historical monuments what is proven by the fact of declaring Dashoguz as the cultural capital of the Commonwealth of Independent States in 2016. – President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
The Head of the State informed that foundation of new residential estate meeting the highest architectural and town-planning standards and provided with all necessary infrastructure for the comfort life of people would be laid.
“Further, continued Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, we would hold the offsite session of the Cabinet of Ministers which agenda will include the subjects of further development of Dashoguz velayat. We would discuss the solution for these subjects, define the priority targets and assess the work of the leaders of the velayat. And during Friday prayer we would participate in the opening ceremony of new modern village”
Then, the President of Turkmenistan gave floor to the Mufti who read the prayer after which the ritual meal took place.
