Turkmenistan and Armenia have discussed cooperation on cultural heritage

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Armenia have met with the UNESCO Chair in Human Rights, Democracy and Political Sciences at the Yerevan Brusov State University of Languages and Social Sciences, professor Tigran Torosyan. In the course of meeting the parties discussed the issues of the bilateral cooperation on cultural heritage.  

The Turkmen diplomat introduced to the professor from Armenia the objects of Turkmenistan which was included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List, in particular, Merv, Kunyaurgench, Nisa, and Gerogly epic, carpet making, Akhalteke horses, alabay dogs. In December, 2021 this List was added with the Turkmen dutar.  

The video wad provided to the guest about the Turkmen folk dance “Kushtdepdi”, which was included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

At the end of the meeting the Ambassador of Turkmenistan presented to Tigran Torosyan the book of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov "Swift step of race horse".

It should be noted, that humanity is called not only to protect the cultural heritage for future, but also to use it for present in most effective way. 

The cultural values serve as a basis for further development of international relations. Thanks to the international relations on protection of cultural heritage objects, the cultural relations are strengthening, a united cultural and legal space.
